Randy Szeto

staff-randyAdministrative Coordinator - National Service Programs

Good day everyone! My name is Randy and I'll be your tour guide today.

First here's some information about myself. I was born and raised in Hayward (aka The Haystack), graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Graphic Design and a Minor in English (just don't ask me about the rules of punctuations). Since I still call Davis home, you'll usually find me on a train between there and Richmond.

East Bay After School Program Regional Supervisor

I've had the privilege of serving with BAYAC AmeriCorps for two years! Those two years were crucial turning points in my life regarding my career, my education and my future goals. Those two years taught me a lot about Direct Service and the importance of community involvement.

One major thing I realized was that I wanted to be apart of the development of future community leaders. For the past few years I have been dedicated to improving the lives of young people in the San Jose/Peninsula area through supervising, supporting and coaching AmeriCorps Members as they find their places amongst the community and the education system.

Besides work, I am passionate for all forms of art!!! Listening to a variety of music as well as playing the acoustic guitar (I can play Stand By Me really well!), writing poems & short stories, painting flowers & trees, and visiting museums. If it’s art, I’m there! I also enjoy discussions about Social Justice, Women’s Studies and the health of Queer folks!

And finally, I am the mother of two beautiful school-aged children. They are my life, my joy, my source of inspiration and my reason for being...

Welcome to BAYAC!

Peace, Kai

Jeremy Gladson

OCASA Regional Supervisor

Hello. My name is Jeremy. The kids call me Mr. J. Some folks call me Dr. J. My friends call me J. I was born and raised in Missouri and grew up in St. Louis. After finishing my bachelor’s degree there, I moved to California and finally found a place I love—Oakland. I served two years as an AmeriCorps member on the OCASA team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary in West Oakland. Then, I became the supervisor of that same team—OCASA.
