BAYAC Americorps member Dana Thiercof works at Bahia Vista Elementary School where she tutors and runs literacy-oriented after schol programs for bilingual and bicultural students. This is Dana's second stint in BAYAC, having served in 1994. "That experience changed my life. I realized my calling was to be a bilingual elementary teacher." After a few years in college, Dana signed up with BAYAC again. "I wanted a break from school so I could be working with kids again, applying all that I learned."
